Volkswagen’s GTX brand stands for the sporty top-of-the-line models of the ID. family.
The dynamic vehicles combine electromobility, intelligent sportiness and sustainability, and they are built to be net carbon neutral.
ID.5 GTX is operated by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, and it has an athletic coupé design and acceleration that will take your breath away.
The ID.5 GTX accelerates like a GTI, moreover, because its electric motor develops the power with full torque, right from the start. A large battery in the bottom of the body ensures a long range and balanced driving dynamics.
ID.5 GTX will offer you outstanding performance, no matter if you are driving into the city or on a country road. The innovative dual-motor all-wheel drive system will provide you with the sporty power needed to reach your destination.
This is provided by two electric drive motors, which power the rear and front wheels via 1-speed gearbox. The exclusive Traction 1 driving profile ensures good traction and improved tracking on loose or slippery terrain by optimally adapting the drive characteristics of your ID.5 GTX to the current conditions.
With reference to the new body, the ID.5 looks much the same as the ID.4 when viewed from the front, starting to deviate from the B-pillar backwards with a sloping roofline leading to a new tailgate with an integrated wing.
Another highlight of ID.5 is the aerodynamic and athletic look of the distinctive rear spoiler.
The interior is intelligent designed to provide a spacious open-space, that offers high-class comfort, and enough freedom and room for everything that is important to you.
Despite of the sloping roof line of the coupé form, the new ID.5 GTX offers plenty of headroom in the rear seats.
In fact, up to five people can travel in comfort in the ID.5 GTX. The large luggage compartment capacity allows you to take plenty of luggage.
The modern interior equipment makes the ID.5 GTX a place for inspiring experiences by combining the design with advanced technology and intuitive operation. The standard augmented reality head-up display projects important information directly into the field of view of the windscreen.
Thanks to the augmented reality technology, you can see the navigation information exactly where you have to drive or turn off. This means that you arrive at your destination more relaxed without taking your eyes off the road. You will be helped by the voice assistant to keep your eyes on the road.
The control equipment such as the radio, navigation system or your telephone, will be done quite simply, by intuitive voice control.
The ID.5 GTX comes also with a panoramic glass roof as standard which is an eye-catching feature with its enormous glazed area extending over practically the entire width of the roof.
The tinted glass ensures pleasant temperatures in the vehicle, whilst the sun blind protects against strong sunlight.
Another highlight of the ID.5 GTX is the elegant light strip between the attractively shaped LED matrix headlights and the Volkswagen logo.
The LED matrix headlights welcome you as soon as you unlock your ID.5 GTX or approach it.
The front bumpers with high-gloss painted finish also have their own light signature in the air curtains.
Illuminated door handles, as well as standard 3D LED tail light clusters with dynamic turn signals and selectable animations, put the sporty design in a new light.
Interior door handles that are illuminated as standard round off the light design.
In order to make road traffic safer, ID.5 is quieter inside and slightly louder outside using the exterior e-sound up to a speed of 30 km/h, being noticed more easily by pedestrians and cyclists.
The ID.5 GTX, offers a range of up to 512 km(WLTP), and the maximum charging capacity is 135 kW.
The 77 kWh high-voltage battery can be charged from 5% to 80% in up to 36 minutes, offering a range of 376 kilometres .
The ID.5 is the first E-SUV coupé from Volkswagen, an all-electric top model with premium features based on the modular electric drive matrix (MEB).

Fast Charging (10 -> 80%)
Rapid charging enables longer journeys by adding as much range as possible in the shortest amount of time. Charging power will decrease significantly after 80% state-of-charge has been reached. A typical rapid charge therefore rarely exceeds 80% SoC. The rapid charge rate of an EV depends on the charger used and the maximum charging power the EV can handle. The table below shows all details for rapid charging the Volkswagen ID.5 GTX.
- Max. Power: maximum power provided by charge point
- Avg. Power: average power provided by charge point over a session from 10% to 80%
- Time: time needed to charge from 10% to 80%
- Rate: average charging speed over a session from 10% to 80%
