Mastercard has released its annual Global Destination Cities Index, a report that measures the amount of people traveling to 162 cities around the world.

The ranking measures the number of visitors and their spending, in order to forecast the growth of visits to those cities in 2018.

The winner this year was no surprise – Bangkok managed to retain its top spot from last year. Judging by the strong projected growth of 9,6% this year, the capital of Thailand will most likely keep its position in the year to come.

Meanwhile, Dubai came out on top in terms of visitor spending — the average visitor spends $537 a day in the Middle Eastern city.
